Various Toronto beverage establishments were alive with the very distinct sound of Old Boys reconnecting and rekindling their associations on the weekend of September 23 and 24. Friday marked the informal kick-off to reunion weekend, with convivial receptions of varying types taking place in homes, clubs and bars.
The next day, more than 330 Old Boys, ranging from the graduating classes of 1966 to 2011 (with a smattering of 1956 and 1961, too), attended a dinner in the Hewitt Athletic Centre at the Upper School after taking a trip back to their school days with a special assembly in Laidlaw Hall. Good times were had and remembered by all.
Two trophies were awarded in the Reunion Giving Challenge. The class of 1966 won for the highest donor participation rate and 1991 won for the largest amount pledged. How appropriate, given that these two classes were celebrating milestone anniversaries of 50 and 25 years respectively.
